Fluids and filters

Filter And Oil Change

Follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation, for oil changes based on your individual driving habits and conditions, and have the oil changed accordingly. Typically this can range anywhere from 3000 – 7,500 miles.

We will perform an oil and filter change service which includes a new filter, 5 quarts of new oil, using the oil type recommended for your vehicle, including synthetic blend, high-mileage, or full-synthetic oil. We will top off your fluids and we will check other filters, including the air filter, cabin filter, and fuel filter. We also check your vehicle’s engine belts, hoses, and windshield wipers. As well as topping off all vehicle fluids.

Brake Fluid Flush

The Brake Fluid transmits hydraulic force, lubricates braking system components, and prevents corrosion. Performing a brake fluid flush will increase braking system component life and provide even braking. Our certified technician will inspect and record the brake fluid level, master cylinder and brake lines.

Power Steering Flush

The power steering fluid provides hydraulic power to the steering system. Power steering fluid becomes contaminated with moisture, rubber and metal particles. Performing a power steering fluid flush will provide longer power steering component life and a smoother, quieter, more dependable steering operation.

Differential Service

The differential transmits power from the vehicles’ driveshaft to the front or rear axles and must be properly lubricated. Performing a differential fluid service will increase rear differential component life and maintain proper lubrication. Our certified technician will visually inspect differential fluid level and look for signs of leakage.  They will perform differential fluid service, adjust differential fluid to proper level, and then test drive.

WHY IS A COOLANT FLUID EXCHANGE SO IMPORTANT?

Coolant breaks down like any other engine fluid. Just as motor oil has vital engine performance additives, your coolant has additives that prevent boiling, freezing and corrosion. When these additives are depleted, contaminants and debris can begin to build up on your radiator, affecting its performance. It’s essential to have your coolant fluid exchanged every so often.

Transmission Fluid Exchange

Transmission fluid transmits power, lubricates, prevents corrosion and removes heat. Performing a transmission fluid exchange will remove and replace virtually 100% of your transmission fluid.  This provides a longer transmission life and smoother operation. Some vehicles today have “lifetime” fluid. The fluid is good for the life of the transmission. The truth is that the life can be greatly extended by changing the fluid. Our ASE certified technician will test drive the vehicle, check transmission fluid level, inspect the transmission fluid pan for leaks.  After recording the required transmission fluid type and quantity, they’ll perform the transmission fluid exchange process and adjust transmission fluid to the proper level before test driving the vehicle.

Transfer Case Function And Fluid Level

A transfer case is the center of the drivetrain of four-wheel drive and some all-wheel drive vehicles. Mounted to the back of the transmission, it splits engine power and sends it to the front and rear axles by means of front and rear drive shafts. It also synchronizes the difference in rotation of the front and rear wheels, and may contain one or more sets of low range gears for off-road use. Low range gears in the transfer case allow the vehicle to drive at much slower speeds while still operating within the usable power band or RPM range of the engine. This also increases the torque available at the axles. Low-range gears are used during slow-speed or extreme off-road maneuvers, such as navigating dangerous roads, rock crawling, or when pulling a heavy load. This feature is often not present on all-wheel drive vehicles.

When To Change Your Oil

Depending on the type of oil used in your vehicle, plan on getting your oil changed every 3,000 miles for synthetic blend, and every 5,000-7,000 miles for full synthetic oil. Most manufacturers recommend longer intervals, but their interests are different than the vehicle owner’s in that they want it to get through warranty and sell another vehicle. The vehicle owner wants it to run well as long as possible.

Shortening the oil change interval is very inexpensive over the life of the vehicle and helps to prevent expensive engine problems. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

When transmission problems typically arise?

Transmission problems typically arise when regular service is neglected. When fluids aren’t properly changed, heat caused from mileage friction results in rough shifting, accelerated wear, and even complete failure. That’s why it’s essential that you make sure that your transmission is lubricated and cooled by the finest quality transmission fluids.

We use only high-quality engine oil & premium filters. In addition, our ASE Certified technicians will perform a complimentary inspection on every vehicle.  This includes:
